While we're on the subject

Norah has a lot of Barbie stuff - lots of it on loan from her Aunt Janessa's awesome 1990's collection! But there is always more to be had. I limit the number of times we allow Norah to enter the fully pink aisle at Toys R Us because it only reminds her of everything she wants "SO BAD!"

One item on her wish list is some sort of a Barbie vehicle. Car, van, limo, or the creme-de-la-creme: The Barbie Camper. I believe this item was on her Christmas list but didn't make the cut. Since then, we've assisted in the fashioning of Barbie cars out of shoe boxes, mega blocks....and today -

All on her own, over the period of a few days, Norah has come up with a Barbie Camper Caravan. Complete with a baby-walker-turned-car, stroller-turned-horse-trailer, laundry baskets - turned living room and bedrooms...

She is thrilled with her creation and I am thrilled that she chose not to whine about what she doesn't have and independently solve her problem. Creativity: it fuels the soul.

What little miss doesn't know is Nana has bought her the camper for her birthday. She will be thrilled and I will be happy to have her very creative creation off my kitchen floor :)

  1. Good for Norah. Good for the parents; not caving in. All of your souls should flourish in the wake of it all...
